Onyx Lounge is located in the historic core of downtown Los Angeles.  It resides in the original headquarters of The Security Trust and Savings Bank, designed and built in 1906 by world- renowned British architect John Parkinson.   Designated a cultural landmark in 2003, the Italianate-style building was one of Los Angeles’s first skyscrapers and the tallest building in the city until 1911.

Parkinson’s firm literally and figuratively built turn-of-the-century Los Angeles, boasting fifty buildings in the downtown area, including City Hall, Union Station and The Coliseum.   Onyx lounge believes the promotion and preservation of not just The Security Lofts building, but also John Parkinson’s personal legacy, is vital to the burgeoning downtown district.   Parkinson’s ingenuity has informed us; his passion has inspired us; and his achievements have driven us to provide nothing short of excellence.
